CH ROUGET POMEROL 2020

History of Château Rouget began several centuries ago. Already known at the end of the Roman Empire, the Estate s terroirs were at that time merged with Saint-Emilion s ones. Château Rouget is certainly the Estate in Pomerol which has made the most progress during last 20 years. Clay and gravel soils combined with the unique micro-climate of Pomerol plateau offer ideal conditions for Merlot. Combined with Cabernet Franc, the latter reveals its best expression through our wines which are renowned for their elegant structure and complexity. This wine smells like dark fruit with hints of spice and truffle. It tastes smooth and light with flavors of black fruit and plum, and has a refreshing aftertaste.
