Description of Product
Bruno Clair's Gevrey-Chambertin "Clos du Fonteny" Premier Cru Monopole comes from 0.675 hectares of clay-limestone soils over Premeaux limestone subsoils on east/southeast-facing slopes at 295 meters elevation, where this exclusive terroir produces Pinot Noir of exceptional finesse and elegance. This monopole vineyard, planted in 1972 and 1987, benefits from Bruno Clair's traditional winemaking using 30-50% whole bunches and 10-15 days maceration in wooden vats before 18-20 months aging in oak with 30% new barrels. The 2020 vintage displays a ruby red color with red fruit aromatics, showcasing the refined character and mineral backbone that makes this single-vineyard Premier Cru a standout expression of Gevrey-Chambertin terroir.
