GAJA CA MARCANDA VISTAMARE TOSCANA BIANCO 2021

Ironically named after the coveted sea view in real estate, Vistamare is a Toscana IGP white wine first produced in 2009 from hillside vineyards overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast that benefit from luminous sunshine and cooling marine breezes. The 2021 vintage followed a harsh, rainy winter that provided ample water reserves, though spring frosts slightly delayed budbreak. The ensuing dry, cool summer with northwest winds allowed slow ripening with reduced vine stress. Harvesting began a week late on August 30th with the Viognier. A blend of Vermentino, Viognier, and Fiano fermented and aged in stainless steel and oak, the 2021 shows a vibrant straw color with green hues. Aromatics evoke chamomile, broom, grapefruit, stone fruits, and melon. On the palate, it s creamy yet refreshing, with saline notes underpinning the lingering finish.
