Rooted in a winery founded on Haggai Street in Jerusalem's Old City in 1848, the nine-generation Galina-Shor family relaunched as 1848 Winery in 2006 under Yossi Shor, sourcing from select vineyards along the Gilboa Mountains Ridge, planted in high-density clay soils chosen for their winemaking potential. This dry Syrah—93% Syrah, 7% Petite Sirah—is harvested at night and immediately transferred to the winery for temperature-controlled fermentation, delivering juicy cherry and ripe blackberry aromas with ground black pepper, a full, earthy palate, and a long, balanced finish.
