Founded in 1897, Nino Negri is the premier estate in Lombardy s Valtellina DOCG, renowned for its Sfursat wines—made from Chiavennasca (local Nebbiolo) grapes dried for 100 days, combining Amarone s opulence with Barolo s elegance. Under Casimiro Maule, 2007 s Gambero Rosso Winemaker of the Year, the estate controls nearly 400 acres of prime vineyards, including the innovative 27-acre Fracia cru. Housed in the 15th-century Quadrio Castle in Chiuro, Nino Negri ages its wines for at least two years in underground cellars, ensuring optimum maturity at bottling. Straw yellow color with light gold highlights; a delicate but distinct aroma with fragrant notes of green apple, lemon, toasted bread, honey and white fleshy fruit; dry and fresh on the palate, with a pleasant flavoursome mineral finish.
