Founded in 1897, Nino Negri is the premier estate in Lombardy's Valtellina DOCG, renowned for its Sfursat wines—made from Chiavennasca (local Nebbiolo) grapes dried for 100 days, combining Amarone's opulence with Barolo's elegance. Under Casimiro Maule, 2007's Gambero Rosso "Winemaker of the Year," the estate controls nearly 400 acres of prime vineyards, including the innovative 27-acre Fracia cru. Housed in the 15th-century Quadrio Castle in Chiuro, Nino Negri ages its wines for at least two years in underground cellars, ensuring optimum maturity at bottling.
Straw yellow color with light gold highlights; a delicate but distinct aroma with fragrant notes of green apple, lemon, toasted bread, honey and white fleshy fruit; dry and fresh on the palate, with a pleasant flavoursome mineral finish.
