The Kreydenweiss estate's 13.5 hectares in Andlau showcase Alsace's extraordinary geological diversity, where blue-grey Villé schist soils impart distinct mineral signatures to their wines. Antoine Kreydenweiss, following his father Marc's pioneering commitment to biodynamic practices since 1989, cultivates these southeast-facing slopes at 230-300m elevation with meticulous attention to their certified organic and biodynamic principles.
This blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris expresses the pure essence of its schist terroir through slow whole-bunch pressing and indigenous fermentation. Aged for 14 months in oak foudres without filtration or added sulfites, the wine reveals delicate white fruit aromas leading to a precise, mineral-driven palate with remarkable tension and salinity. The wine's naturally low residual sugar and bright acidity promise excellent aging potential of up to 15 years.
