Ca'Marcanda's Promis wine, produced in Bolgheri, Tuscany, is a blend of Merlot, Syrah, and Sangiovese that embodies Angelo Gaja's ambition to work with international grape varieties. The 2022 vintage, despite challenging drought conditions, resulted in surprisingly fresh wines with high acidity. Grown on lime and clay soils, the grapes are fermented separately for about 15 days, then aged in oak for 12 months before blending and bottle aging. The wine offers a generous bouquet of fruits, Mediterranean scrub, and floral notes, with an elegant palate featuring ripe fruit, balsamic elements, and a long, soft finish.
