There is a mentholated top note present on the ripe and earthy aromas of mostly red and dark cherry. The caressing and seductively textured middleweight flavors possess very good richness while exhibiting better than average length on the balanced finale where only a trace of rusticity slowly appears. Worth a look.
Burghound note: Anne Parent, who has directed this 10 ha domaine since 1998 where 90% of the production is in red, told me that "2022 is another one of those vintages where you're surprised by how the wines turned out relative to what you thought during the harvest. I say this because the growing season was very hot and distinctly dry yet the wines are fresh and bright with better acidities than we expected. I chose to begin picking on the 30th of August and the fruit could not have been cleaner. Yields were good but not really nigh with potential alcohols that ranged from 13 to 13.5%. I used varying amounts of whole clusters and had no trouble with the vinifications. As to the wines, the quality is both excellent and homogeneous across all our appellations plus there is very fine terroir transparency, especially for how hot the growing season was. Stylistically, to me they resemble a blend of 2019 and 2020. It's possible that they don't have quite the same aging potential as the 2020s do but even so, I would take this quality of vintage anytime." Parent rarely misses but it's abundantly clear that the quality of her 2022s is first rate. As is usually the case, Parent noted that the 2022 reds will be bottled without fining or filtration.
