A peppery and earthy nose features mostly ripe red berry scents. The nicely textured and delicious middle weight flavors possess unusually good depth and persistence in the context of what is typical for the genre. Worth considering.
The 2020 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain is the usual 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay from 90-year old vines. Light blueberry and strawberry scents on the nose that is well-defined, the palate is stylistically equidistant between Pinot Noir and Gamay, the finish just a little tart and short.
50% Pinot Noir, 50% Gamay. Cask sample.
Bright mid crimson; simple fruit with crunchy fresh red cherries and redcurrants. Really zippy acidity. (MH)
