Subtle if perceptible wood influence can be found on the more deeply pitched aromas of poached plum, humus and a smoked game hint. There is both more volume and richness to the delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that are, once again, not particularly dense though they do manage to deliver solid depth and persistence on the youthfully austere and moderately firm finale.

"Frédéric Humbert, and his younger brother Emmanuel, run this 6 ha domaine though Frédéric has essentially eased out of the day-to-day operations. Readers may notice that the vineyard holdings appear similar to both of the Dugat domaines (see above) and this is not by chance - the Humbert brothers are cousins of Claude and Bernard. The younger Humbert simply said that 2022 was "initially difficult here in Gevrey due to the massive rain and hailstorms we had on the 22nd and 25th of June. Thankfully there wasn't too much damage to the fruit though there was quite a bit of erosion as we had close to a season's worth in only 2 days. Thereafter though, the summer was hot and extremely dry and by the middle of August, the vineyards were beginning to display signs of hydric stress. Serendipitously, 24 ml of rain fell on the 15th of August and it was just enough to give the vines a sip of water so that they could finish the final ripening. We chose to begin picking on the 31st of August and brought in clean fruit with better-than-expected yields of between 40 and 45 hl/ha. Given how hot the summer was, potential alcohols were entirely reasonable as they ranged from 12 to 13%. Stylistically, the wines remind me of the 1959 vintage and if that turns out to be the case, everyone buying the '22s is going to be extremely happy." Humbert noted that the 2022s will be bottled without fining or filtration."
