Domaine Guy Bocard boasts a rich history of crafting exceptional white wines in Burgundy. Founded in the 1920s, the Bocard family has been cultivating vines in Meursault for generations. Since 2020, winemaker René Mora has continued this tradition, implementing sustainable practices to nurture the health of the vines and the quality of the grapes.
This Meursault Vieilles Vignes is a dry white wine crafted from a blend of four plots in the northern sector of the village. Aged for 18 months, with 12 months spent in Burgundy barrels, the wine boasts a pale gold color with enticing aromas of white flowers and toasty oak. On the palate, the wine offers an expressive attack of white fruits and white flowers, complemented by a touch of melted woodiness. Balanced by vibrant acidity, this Meursault showcases a round mouthfeel and a lingering finish.
Cask sample. Smells riper and a little spicier than the Côte d'Or Chardonnay. Really attractive benchmark Meursault, with depth but no excess weight. Concentrated citrus fruit and a burst of freshness on the finish encased in a creamy, rounded texture. (JH)
