The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru has a peppery nose, clove and white pepper, quite open and expressive with rose petal notes emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with mulberry and raspberry fruit, good body here, a little sinew and grip on the finish. A keeper. Eric Guido
Burghound: 91-94 Points
A much earthier and less elegant but even more complex nose displays notes of the sauvage, red and dark berries, newly turned earth, humus and a hint of exotic tea. There is excellent size, weight and punch to the tautly muscular bigger-bodied flavors that possess a bracing salinity on the impressively long finale. This is textbook Cazetiers and built-to-age. Patience advised.
