The Santenay appellation is situated to the south of the Côte de Beaune, and ends in the long vineyard of the Maranges appellation. Red wines are produced primarily (more than 80% of total production).
The estate produces white Santenay from the "En Charron" locality, at an altitude of about 300 metres, with excellent sunshine and thin limestone soil, which guarantees superb aromatic finesse. Combining the two localities' produce results in a well-balanced wine.
This Chardonnay is crafted entirely from the versatile Chardonnay grape. Aged for a year in various barrels, it then spends additional time in stainless steel tanks for refinement before bottling. The wine boasts a beautiful golden color. On the nose, it offers a fresh and slightly toasted character, evolving with age to reveal intriguing aromas of almonds and grilled hazelnuts, even truffle in mature vintages. This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with creamy dishes like risotto or hard cheeses like Comté or Beaufort.
