Château Belgrave, a historic estate in Medoc with deep gravel soils perfectly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, has been meticulously managed by Dourthe since 1979. Their dedication to showcasing the terroir's potential shines through in the 2005 Château Belgrave, a prime example of this esteemed Fifth Growth estate's quest for perfection.
This exceptional 2005 vintage boasts a deep color and powerful aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries, a testament to the ideal growing conditions and meticulous harvest selection. Full-bodied and dense, the wine unfolds on the palate with smooth elegance, balanced by very fine tannins and beautifully integrated oak. This harmonious blend promises a long life of enjoyment, making it a captivating choice for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
The 2005 Belgrave is a gorgeous Haut-Medoc. Bold and punchy, the 2005 has plenty of richness and power. Succulent black cherry, mocha, tobacco licorice, dried herbs, mint, gravel and crushed flowers abound. I imagine the 2005 still has another decade of fine drinking to offer. It sure is impressive, that much is obvious.
