Barkan was founded in 1990 by Yair Lerner and Shmuel Boxer, who prioritized modernization and vineyard planting to produce high-quality wine and expand the company. Today, Barkan sources grapes from top regions in Israel, including the Golan Heights, Upper Galilee, and Jerusalem mountains. With a 50,000 square meter facility, the winery features a 12 million liter tank farm, automated crushing and fermentation plant, and air-conditioned storage building. As Israel s second-largest winery, Barkan processes over 8,000 tons of grapes annually, dedicating itself to ensuring the best possible fruit quality from harvest to sales.
