La Gran Senora is an elegant extra anejo tequila that represents the pinnacle of production from Tequila Supremo, one of the finest tequila makers in the world also known as Gran Dinastia (formerly Casa Camarena). The revered Camarena family has owned and operated the fabrica in the iconic tequila town of Arandas, Jalisco since it was founded by Augustin Camarena in 1938. Today led by family matriarch Doña Elena Camarena, for whom La Gran Senora is named, the brand uses 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from the highland Los Altos region after over 6 years of maturation. The iron-rich red soils, hot days, and cool nights provide an ideal environment for growing agave. The mature piñas are cooked in a 100-year-old volcanic oven, fermented in open steel tanks, and double distilled in pot stills. A rarity among Jalisco distilleries, Tequila Supremo has developed sustainable Zero D waste processing and irrigation techniques, becoming the first tequila producer recognized as 100% environmentally friendly with net zero carbon emissions.
Matured in ex-tequila casks of American white oak, La Gran Señora Tequila Extra Añejo was in barrel for 42 months (3½ years) before chill filtration and bottling. Butterscotch and burnt orange peel on the nose give way to wave upon wave of both spicy and soft cinnamon on the palate with a finish of toasted brioche and vanilla custard. A rare gem with unprecedented age from Tequila Supremo! 40% ABV
