NONINO IL MOSCATO DI MONOVITIGNO GRAPPA

Nonino has distilled in Friuli-Venezia Giulia since 1897, and their 1973 monovitigno bottlings pioneered the single-varietal grappa category. This Moscato grappa is made by distilling fresh pomace immediately after pressing on copper batch steam stills, locking in the grape's aromatic compounds before fermentation can strip them away. Aging follows in small barrels of Nevers oak, Limousin oak, and acacia wood in cellars the family has maintained since 1952. The result is floral and lifted — rose petal, sage, and vanilla — with a smooth, warm finish.
