Description of Product

Boas Quintas, founded in 1991 in Portugal's renowned Dão region, represents the vision of fourth-generation winemaker Nuno Cancela de Abreu, who brings over 130 years of family viticultural heritage to this exceptional project. Originally established as a family enterprise, the winery expanded to a multi-regional operation in 2010, acquiring prestigious estates including Quinta da Fonte do Ouro, Quinta da Giesta, and Herdade de Gâmbia. Their philosophy centers on respecting each terroir's unique identity, allowing the natural conditions of diverse Portuguese wine regions to express themselves authentically through careful vineyard management and innovative winemaking techniques.

The Morgado de Bucelas showcases Nuno's expertise with the indigenous Arinto grape variety, which he helped revitalize during his tenure at Quinta da Romeira. This DOC Bucelas white wine undergoes a precise vinification process including four hours of cold skin contact followed by 25 days of fermentation at 14°C and three months of batonnage. At 12.5% alcohol, it delivers pronounced citric notes with vibrant lime and green apple aromas complemented by distinctive minerality. The palate reveals remarkable freshness balanced with surprising volume, creating a persistent finish that pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled fish, and fresh salads. This exemplary white reflects both Boas Quintas' commitment to quality and Nuno's celebrated winemaking skill, which earned him "Winemaker of the Year 2016" recognition from respected wine critic Aníbal Coutinho.
