PRUNOTTO BAROLO 2019

Founded in 1904 as a winemaking cooperative in Serralunga's Town Hall, Prunotto has evolved through careful stewardship—first under Alfredo and Luigina Prunotto, then the Colla brothers, and since 1994, the Antinori family. The winery's 65 hectares span the prestigious terroirs of Langhe and Monferrato, where sustainable vineyard practices and meticulous soil studies ensure optimal expression of Piedmont's unique landscape. The 2019 growing season presented challenges with early bud break followed by cold spring temperatures that reduced yields, while temperature swings in late summer and careful cluster thinning preserved berry quality through the extended October harvest.

Prunotto Barolo 2019 presents an intense garnet red color that captures the eye immediately. The elegant, generous nose reveals delicate spicy notes harmoniously blended with enticing aromas of flowers and small red fruits—hallmarks of premium Nebbiolo grown in the heart of the Barolo appellation. On the palate, this traditional wine offers intense, well-balanced flavors framed by soft, silky tannins that reflect its 18-month aging in various-sized oak barrels.
