Domaine Faiveley, stewards of Burgundy for nearly two centuries and one of the region's largest estate holders, crafts this elegant Givry "Champ-Lalot" Rouge from their southeast-facing limestone vineyards in the Côte Chalonnaise. The terroir here yields reds often compared to neighboring Mercurey, with this particular site featuring vines planted between 1975-1983 and currently transitioning to certified organic farming (formal certification beginning 2025). The exceptional 2022 vintage, marked by mild winter, spring heat, and beneficial June rains, produced perfectly ripened fruit vinified with partial whole clusters and aged 12 months in French oak (10% new). This 100% Pinot Noir delights with springlike floral aromas, while the palate balances delicate cherry fruit with fresh acidity, culminating in an elegant, smooth mouthfeel that showcases the vineyard's limestone signature.
