Description of Product
From the deep, well-drained alluvial soils of Penedès—where interbedded layers of gravel, sand, and clay create ideal growing conditions—comes Torres' legendary Mas La Plana. This historic vineyard, which shocked the wine world by defeating Château Latour in the 1979 Gault-Millau Wine Olympics, now embraces regenerative agriculture practices. The moderately rainy 2018 vintage delivers a complex, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon layered with blackberry and red currant notes, complemented by sophisticated hints of cigar tobacco, chili-infused chocolate, and fresh mint. Aged 18 months in predominantly new French oak, this medium to full-bodied wine exhibits silky, refined tannins, vibrant acidity, and a mineral-laced finish that showcases both Mediterranean character and remarkable finesse.
