Picked at the peak of ripeness during early morning hours, this Petite Sirah from Alexander Valley reflects the region s dramatic daily temperature fluctuations, which range from mid-40s at night to intense afternoon heat. This diurnal shift contributes to the wine s rich, fleshy mouthfeel and voluptuous character. After destemming, the fruit ferments in stainless steel for 14 days before aging in 50% new French oak barrels for a minimum of 20 months in the winery s caves. The result is an inky, dark purple wine with formidable tannins and remarkable concentration. It displays intense aromas of blackberries and blueberries, balanced by subtle hints of black pepper and licorice. This robust wine finds its ideal match in hearty dishes like steak with shiitake mushrooms or pulled pork.
