DOMINIQUE GRUHIER EPINEUIL BOURGOGNE COTE DE GRISEY 2021

This bottling showcases Pinot Noir from the historic, yet often overlooked, Côte de Grisey in Burgundy. These grapes are organically farmed on southeast-facing slopes, some as steep as 45 degrees! The vines dig their roots into thin Kimmeridgian clay-limestone topsoil, which imparts a distinctive minerality to the wine. Domaine Gruhier ferments this Pinot Noir with 20-30% whole clusters, a technique that enhances the wine s structure and fruit expression. Following fermentation, the wine ages for 8-11 months in a combination of 228L and 400L barrels, some of which are new. Expect a vibrant and mineral-driven Pinot Noir unlike any other in Burgundy. This is a wine for adventurous palates seeking a unique expression of the grape.
