Les Champs de l Abbaye is a 6-hectare family domaine located in the Cote Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, France. Established in 1997 by Alain and Isabelle Hasard, the estate is certified organic and biodynamic, reflecting the owners commitment to natural winemaking practices. With vineyards spread across various appellations, including Mercurey and Rully, Les Champs de l Abbaye crafts wines that showcase the unique characteristics of each terroir. Monthélie Blanc Les Sous Roches is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown on a 5-hectare plot with east-facing exposure. The soil, composed of Oxford white marl, yields a wine with a dry, clear, and precise character. With subtle fruit flavors, prominent mineral notes, and firm acidity, this wine is a perfect representation of the terroir. The winemaking process, which includes natural yeasts and minimal intervention, allows the wine to express its pure and unadulterated flavors.
