PEYRASSOL ROSE CHATEAU PEYRASSOL 2022

The Commanderie de Peyrassol, a winery founded in 1256 by the Knight s Templar, has been producing wine continuously. Francois Rigord brought the winery to fame in the 1970s and 1980s, expanding the varietals grown. In 2001, Philippe Austruy took over, modernizing the facilities while maintaining the winery s historical roots. Today, Peyrassol practices organic farming, restricts yields, and upholds the values of hospitality and generosity, creating renowned wines enjoyed worldwide. This Provencal wine showcases a distinct terroir of clay and limestone soil from the Triassic period, with a high proportion of gravel. This unique soil composition imparts minerality and complexity to the grapes. The wine is made from 100% estate fruit, primarily old vines, offering a pure expression of this terroir. The blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Tibouren, and Vermentino reflects the estate s commitment to excellence. The resulting wine displays a pale lychee pink color, with complex aromas of white fruits, citrus, and floral notes. On the palate, it s delicate and lively, with a fresh finish balanced by a subtle hint of saltiness - characteristics that can be attributed to the distinctive soil and growing conditions of the estate.
