The vineyard is situated along the Mosel river, opposite Mülheim, with a full southern exposure. Its name, "Juffer" (medieval German for "Virgin Lady"), refers to a nearby convent that once owned much of this steep site. The vineyard is characterized by Devonian slate rich in ferruginous minerals, which impart earthy notes to the wines. In Burgundian terms, the Juffer vineyard is considered equivalent to a 'Premier Cru'.
For this vintage, healthy grapes were handpicked in late September at 88° Oechsle. Fermentation occurred in traditional old oak barrels (Fuder) using indigenous yeast under temperature-controlled conditions. The resulting wine showcases a gorgeous nose of white peach, herbs, and fine spices. On the palate, it begins with a slight sweetness before transitioning to a citrusy zest finish. The aftertaste is described as light-footed, racy, and mouth-watering, packed with flavors. While already impressive, the wine would benefit from some aging to allow the touch of creamy sweetness to fully integrate.
