Elena Walch is a renowned family-run winery in Alto Adige, Italy, known for spearheading a quality revolution in the region. Founded by Elena Walch, an architect who married into a prominent wine family, the estate has gained international acclaim for its innovative approach to winemaking. Now led by Elena's daughters, Julia and Karoline, the winery manages 90 hectares of vineyards, including the prestigious VIGNA Castel Ringberg and VIGNA Kastelaz sites. The estate is celebrated for its varietal wines, single-vineyard "Vigna" wines, and award-winning cuvées like "Beyond the Clouds." Committed to sustainability and terroir-driven winemaking, Elena Walch produces wines that reflect the unique characteristics of Alto Adige's Mediterranean climate and high-altitude vineyards, resulting in fresh, fruity whites and concentrated, velvety reds with distinct personality and elegance.
Elena Walch's Sauvignon Blanc is a premium wine from the Alto Adige DOC region in Italy, cultivated sustainably in vineyards with southeast and southwest exposures on calcareous and sandy soils. The wine is carefully produced through precise pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks, followed by aging on fine lees in both steel tanks and barriques. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc has 13.5% alcohol content and offers a deep yellow color with green hues. It presents a complex aroma of ripe gooseberries, papaya, elderberries, and subtle herbs, complemented by a palate featuring juicy acidity, good structure, and a pleasing finish.
