Duckhorn Vineyards was co-founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976 and has since established itself as a premier producer of Napa Valley wines. Starting with a modest inaugural vintage of 800 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon and 800 cases of Merlot in 1978, the winery has grown and evolved over the years, adding Sauvignon Blanc in 1982 and expanding its portfolio to include other varietals. With a focus on quality and excellence, Duckhorn Vineyards has become known for its luxury Merlot and other Bordeaux-style wines, and has been recognized for its contributions to the Napa Valley wine industry. Today, the winery is led by winemaker Renée Ary and continues to produce highly acclaimed wines from its Estate program.
From its tempting aromas of ripe cherry and black raspberry to its sweet, dusty tannins and supple texture, this a lush and expansive expression of Napa Valley Merlot. Luxurious flavors of black plum, rhubarb crumble and chocolate-covered raspberry mingle with hints of graphite and clove on the long, vibrant finish.
