Bella Union, founded in 2012 by the partners of Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel, specializes in blending Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Located on a 25-acre vineyard in Rutherford along the historic Bella Oaks Lane, the winery's name pays homage to the area's 1880s history. Bella Union represents the natural progression of its founders' three decades of Cabernet winemaking experience in Napa Valley. The winery's philosophy centers on creating harmonious blends by artfully combining carefully selected vineyard sites and traditional varietals that complement Cabernet Sauvignon, embodying the spirit of a beautiful union across the Napa Valley.

The 2021 Bella Union Napa Valley Cabernet boasts a complex aromatic profile featuring dark plum, black cherry, and subtle notes of clove and barrel spice. On the palate, it presents a well-structured body with velvety tannins, accompanied by generous layers of blackberry, fig, and raspberry preserve flavors. This rich flavor profile culminates in a smooth, melting finish, showcasing the wine's depth and balance.

A good value from the team of Far Niente, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley checks in as 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and the rest Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, all of which was raised in 50% new oak. This deep purple-hued, medium to full-bodied effort has pretty cassis and violet aromatics, a round, supple mouthfeel, some building tannins, and outstanding length. It's impeccably made and undeniably delicious. Drink bottles over the coming 7-8 years or so.

A juicy, creamy and fruit-driven cabernet sauvignon. Attractive nose with cherries, red plums and cloves. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Well-built, with a solid frame and a delicious core of berries and cocoa in the spicy finish. Drink or hold.
