The 2020 Gevrey Chambertin Clos St-Jacques 1er Cru has a delightful, complex and involving bouquet with perfumed blackberry and cranberry fruit intermingling with subtle sea spray and charcoal scents. The palate is very well balanced with gentle grip than belies the structure of this Clos St-Jacques, and it fans out with brio on the finish. Huge potential and bloomin’ delicious.  Eric Guido

An exceptionally spicy and floral-inflected nose adds breadth in the form of both red and dark pinot fruit. The racy, detailed and mineral-driven middle weight plus flavors possess fine mid-palate density while the beautifully detailed and persistent if youthfully austere finish is supported by very firm but fine tannins. Patience strongly advised.

Cask sample. Intense, voluptuous nose. Rich and smooth. Perhaps worked just a little more than ideal? But clearly fantastic fruit quality. Worth swallowing! Long with quite an array of complex flavours already. Attractive juiciness.
