Domaine Camus-Bruchon & Fils is a historic winery in Savigny-les-Beaune, Burgundy, France, renowned for producing high-quality red Burgundies. The Camus family has been cultivating old vines, some planted by Guillaume's great-grandmother, Reine Joly, and has a strong focus on vineyard management. Guillaume Camus is a skilled winemaker who spends most of his time in the vineyards, ensuring the best possible grapes for his wines. The family's portfolio includes top vineyards in Savigny-les-Beaune, Beaune, and Pommard, with a high percentage of old vines.
Here the brooding nose is distinctly earthy with its array of very cool dark berries, the sauvage and a hint of smoked meat character. There is excellent volume to the rich and intensely mineral-driven flavors that possess fine depth and persistence on the balanced finale. This is lovely and I particularly like the nuanced tannin/fruit/acid interplay.
