The Hugel family has cultivated an unparalleled legacy in Alsace winemaking, spanning over three and a half centuries across thirteen generations. Based in the picturesque village of Riquewihr, this dynamic winemaking clan has garnered global acclaim for their Alsatian wines, deftly balancing tradition and innovation. While upholding time-honored practices, such as pioneering the classification of Grand Cru vineyards and meticulously crafting late-harvest wines, the Hugels have embraced a modern approach, introducing new wines, revamped labeling, and an enhanced social media presence. Their unwavering commitment to quality shines through every bottle, with each release carefully timed to ensure optimal maturity, offering an unforgettable tasting experience that encapsulates the essence of Alsatian terroir.
The wine exhibits a lovely youthful color, a pale pastel pistachio green hue reminiscent of spring foliage. It has a nice sheen and vivaciousness, with bright, energetic legs that are not overly heavy. The bouquet is quintessentially Gewurztraminer - aromatic and strongly scented, yet well-balanced and harmonious without being overpowering. Fruity and floral notes mingle, offering hints of cardamom, ginger, mango, passion fruit, rose, and jasmine. On the palate, the wine is superbly elegant, harmonious, and sophisticated, with a juicy texture. The finish overflows with an ethereal charm that lingers pleasantly.
