Feudo Montoni, a historic winery since 1469, is currently led by Fabio Sireci, the third generation of his family to oversee the estate. The Sireci family has long been dedicated to producing high-quality wines with minimal human intervention, using organic farming methods, artisanal cellar practices, and renewable energy sources. The winery produces a range of 100% indigenous varietals, including Nero d'Avola, Perricone, and Grillo, and is particularly known for its pure expression of Nero d'Avola from pre-phylloxera vineyards. All vineyard operations are done by hand, and the winery's commitment to natural practices and high-altitude terroir has earned its wines a reputation as among the finest in the region.
The Fornelli Inzolia presents a beautiful straw yellow hue with subtle green reflections. The nose is elegant and fragrant, showcasing floral notes of Sicilian Spanish broom and chamomile, complemented by aromas of ripe pear, yellow melon, and hints of honey. On the palate, the wine reveals a harmonious balance of acidity, providing a refreshing and persistent freshness that lingers on the finish. The mineral notes are distinct and add a unique character to the wine, making it a standout. Overall, this Inzolia is a masterclass in finesse and elegance, with a subtle yet expressive flavor profile that invites another sip.
Salty, savory aromas dominate the nose, from roasted almonds to lemongrass and sautéed spices and herbs with a squeeze of lemon. Notes of citrus and nuts are more pronounced on the palate, emphasized by a roundness of texture.
