Vines planted in 1947.
Covering an area of 34 ares, purchased in 2010, this old vineyard is located at the foot of the “Les Cailles” Premier Crus. Produced from a small crop affected by millerandage (very small grapes of varying sizes), the wine has a dark red hue and scents of violets and blackberries.
Bright red with ruby tones. Very ripe, aromas of black cherry, cassis and blueberry, with a violet note emerging with air. Concentrated and thick, with its flavors of blackberry, violet pastille and Sen-Sen lifted by a peppery quality. I find this more harmonious than the 2016 version, and showing much deeper fruit than a sample I tasted from barrell in late 2016. Stephen Tanzer
A new acquisition; one long, narrow parcel of very old vines.
Very heady – more fruit than Nuits energy on the nose. Smooth – as though its edges have been filed down. Dry end.
