Burlotto is a family-owned winery in Verduno, Piedmont, Italy, with a long history of producing high-quality wines. The dream of the family has always been to share Barolo with the world, and they have been working towards this goal since the early 20th century. With a strong connection to the territory and a passion for winemaking, the Burlotto family has built a reputation for producing exceptional wines. Today, the winery is run by Gian Carlo Burlotto and his son Gianluca, who continue the family tradition with the brand Cascina Massara.

Langhe Freisa, hand-harvested and gravity-fed into French oak and steel tanks, develops its characteristic deep, vigorous character through gentle fermentation and aging in large French oak barrels. The result captures the grape's bold, dark intensity - a natural match for robust cuisine.

Burlotto’s 2022 Langhe Freisa is a wonderfully vivid, expressive wine. Lavender, rose petal, mint, blood orange and pomegranate give the Freisa its beguiling, nuanced personality. Firm yet well-integrated tannins wrap it all together. The aromatics alone are captivating, but it’s the wine's total sense of harmony that is most impressive of all.

Ripe magenta-colored, the 2022 Langhe Freisa is lifted with spice and notes of pine needles and juniper, as well as balanced notes in the background of fresh blackberries. Well-structured, with ripe tannins that are savory but never turn bitter or heavy, it has midweight feel and is a cleanly style wine without the rustic side this grape can often have.
