Schramsberg Vineyards, a family-owned sparkling wine estate in Napa Valley, was established in 1965 by Jack and Jamie Davies on a property originally founded in 1862. As pioneers in California's sparkling wine industry, they focused on producing high-quality, handcrafted wines using the méthode champenoise style. Today, under the leadership of their son Hugh Davies, Schramsberg continues to create a diverse range of premium sparkling wines, sourcing grapes from cool-climate vineyards across Northern California. The winery's commitment to quality is evident in its limited production, use of barrel fermentation, and innovative reserve wine aging program. Schramsberg's historic caves, dating from the 1800s, provide the ideal environment for aging up to 2.7 million bottles for two to seven years.
Schramsberg's Blanc de Blancs is a stunning example of a Chardonnay-based sparkling wine that has captured the hearts of wine enthusiasts since its introduction in 1965. This dry and crisp wine is crafted using a combination of stainless-steel and barrel-fermented wines, resulting in a complex and nuanced base wine. After a secondary fermentation in the bottle and an extended aging period on its yeast lees, the Blanc de Blancs emerges with a vibrant and fruitful character. On the nose, it offers aromas of Granny Smith apple, tangerine, and lemon-lime, while the palate is anchored by flavors of fresh grapefruit, white peach, and golden apple. With its crisp and refreshing finish, this sparkling wine is a versatile companion to a wide range of dishes, from fresh oysters and ceviche to lemon chicken and Thai curries.
Handsomely structured, with appealing apple and citrus flavors highlighted by yeast roll and spice notes. Expands on the polished finish.
Pale lemon in colour. Brioche and lemon. High acidity balancing a soft, creamy mouthfeel and lengthy finish.
