Olivier Leflaive is a family-run winery in Burgundy, France, established in 1984. They are dedicated to crafting high-quality wines while respecting the land and Burgundian traditions. Their philosophy emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to sharing their passion for wine with others. This is evident in their creation of a hospitality experience that allows guests to fully immerse themselves in the world of Burgundy wine.
The 2020 Pernand-Vergelesses is a Chardonnay produced from grapes grown on clayey limestone soils with minimal rainfall. This vintage saw an early budburst and harvest due to warm temperatures. Despite the water deficit, the grapes remained healthy. The wine itself is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes and aged for 12 months, with some time spent in stainless steel tanks and some in oak barrels (including a portion of new oak). Expect aromas of hawthorn and acacia that develop into honey and spice notes over time. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and pleasant. This white wine pairs well with seafood pastas and risottos, as well as blue cheeses.
