Fattoria Dei Barbi, a prestigious estate in Montalcino, has been producing wine for over 100 years and is one of only five estates in the region to have done so continuously. Founded in 1790 by the influential Colombini family, who have owned land in Montalcino since 1352, the estate is currently managed by the 20th generation heir, Stefano Cinelli Colombini. The Colombini family, along with the Biondi-Santi family, played a significant role in establishing Brunello di Montalcino as a high-quality wine worldwide. Fattoria Dei Barbi is among the original producers of Brunello di Montalcino, with bottles dating back to the 1892 vintage, and has received numerous awards and recognition for its wines, including the iconic "Blue Label" Brunello, which was first exported to the USA in 1962.
