Elvio Cogno, a family-owned winery in Barolo, crafts this stunning Ravera Barolo DOCG using organic farming practices in their meticulously groomed vineyards. Sourced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown on the Ravera cru, this wine embodies the unique terroir of Novello.
Aged for two years in large Slavonian oak barrels, this Barolo boasts a dark garnet hue and a complex bouquet of black fruit, rose, balsamic notes, and earthy hints of herbs and black tea. Full-bodied on the palate, the wine offers velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and a lingering aftertaste.
The fruit and depth of this wine is very pretty. With brightness and transparency. Plums, and cherries with dried flowers and spices. Medium to full body, bright fruit and acidity. A powerful finish. A fantastic 2014!
