Domaine Sylvain Cathiard et Fils is a prestigious family-owned winery in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, known for its premium Pinot Noir wines. Founded in the 1930s by Sylvain's grandfather, the domaine has evolved through three generations. Sylvain Cathiard significantly elevated the winery's reputation in the 1990s, and his son Sébastien, who joined in 2006, has further enhanced its status. The domaine manages about 5.5 hectares of vineyards across Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-St-Georges, and Chambolle-Musigny, including small parcels in grand cru sites like Romanée-St-Vivant. With meticulous vineyard management and a focus on quality, Sébastien has modernized winemaking practices while maintaining the domaine's reputation for producing some of Burgundy's most sought-after wines.

Vinous: 90-92 Points

The 2022 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguette comes from more limestone soils than the Aux Charmes. With fine delineation and transparency on the nose, the terroir comes through on this cuvée. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, a mixture of red and black fruit with quite a sapid finish that begs another sip. Good potential.

Wine Advocate: 89 Points

Cathiard produced fully 36 barrels of the 2022 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguette, a medium-bodied, taut and incisive red redolent of plums, berries and petals. The soils here are stonier, so it's always the tangiest of his three Hautes-Côtes bottlings.
