A classic Aligoté nose features ultra-fresh notes of spicy green apple and a plethora of citrus elements. There is impressive density to the intense and utterly delicious middleweight flavors that possess unusually good depth on the clean, dry and sneaky long finish. This is an excellent example of the genre and recommended, plus it will age for several years.
The 2021 Bourgogne Aligoté Raisins Dorés has a pure bouquet, slightly Germanic in style and very perfumed with yellow flowers and dried honey. The palate is well balanced with good weight, though maybe it just misses some of its normal complexity on the finish.
1.2 ha (3 acres) of 87-year-old vines. Picked late on 5 October. Cask sample.
Pale gold. Lovely nose of mature yellow apples and honey. Mature and full flavours. Zesty, brisk acidity. (MH)
