Domaine Lafarge-Vial's Chiroubles emerges from a pristine 0.35-hectare plot on Beaujolais' granite-rich slopes, where 50-year-old Gamay vines stretch their roots deep into the mineral-laden soils. The south/southeastern exposure captures optimal sunlight, while cool mountain breezes maintain crucial acidity. This boutique operation, established in 2014 by Burgundian legends Frédéric and Chantal Lafarge, exemplifies their commitment to biodynamic and organic farming, certified by both AB and Demeter, ensuring the purest expression of this distinguished Cru Beaujolais terroir.

This elegant Gamay showcases the masterful Burgundian winemaking approach adapted to Beaujolais, with partial whole-cluster fermentation lending structural complexity. The wine reveals vibrant notes of fresh crushed raspberries and wild strawberries, intertwined with delicate violet petals and crushed granite minerality. The gentle extraction methods and twelve-month aging in neutral oak barrels preserve the wine's natural vibrancy while adding subtle depth and refinement to the finish.

Ripe and distinctly pepper-inflected dark berries leads to delicious middleweight flavors that possess good richness and generosity before concluding in a dusty, serious and moderately structured finale. Lovely.
