Burlotto is a family-owned winery in Verduno, Piedmont, Italy, with a long history of producing high-quality wines. The dream of the family has always been to share Barolo with the world, and they have been working towards this goal since the early 20th century. With a strong connection to the territory and a passion for winemaking, the Burlotto family has built a reputation for producing exceptional wines. Today, the winery is run by Gian Carlo Burlotto and his son Gianluca, who continue the family tradition with the brand Cascina Massara.
Hand-harvested from top vineyard sites chosen for their vine age and climate conditions, this Langhe Nebbiolo moves by gravity into French oak vats and steel tanks for fermentation, followed by French oak barrel aging. Unlike its more serious Barolo and Barbaresco siblings, it reveals Nebbiolo's brighter, more immediate charms - brilliant, memorable, and clear in its youth.
Showing a point of extra ripeness or softness, this is an accessible expression from Comm. G.B. Burlotto. The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo reveals a transparent soul with small berry aromas and easy brightness. Violet, lilac and candied orange peel dovetail into crushed stone and pencil shaving. The effect is simple, but this is one of the bottles you'll enjoy most within the wide and somewhat unruly world of Langhe Nebbiolo. A total of 10,000 bottles were made. (M. Lerner)
The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo is an absolute joy. Rose petal, cinnamon, crushed flowers, mint and kirsch are all beautifully lifted. Lively acids and veins of tannin lend shape as well as a palpable saline-infused energy. The 2022 is pure pleasure.
Bright transparent ruby, the 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo is spicy with underlying fresh ripeness, offering notes of cinnamon, pomegranate, dried strawberries, and spices. Medium-bodied, it has a nice, chalky texture, with fresh lift, notes of ripe tangerine, and a clean finish. It has a refreshing feel that can be enjoyed now or over the next few years.
