The Ceppaiano vineyard, spanning fifty hectares, is situated along the Arno River in the Pisan hills, one of the most vocated areas for wine production, just 20km from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vineyard's sandy soils, rich in minerals and marine fossils, host primarily Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, along with native minor and experimental varieties, all trained using the traditional cordon spur system. Through collaboration with the University of Pisa's Oenology department, Ceppaiano has selected the best clones and grape varieties to produce modern wines that simultaneously embody the rich typicity of the territory.
The Tenuta di Ceppaiano for Keith Haring is a delightful "Super Tuscan" blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes. This ruby-red wine offers a complex mix of fruity aromas and sweet flavors, balanced by gentle acidity and a long finish. Perfect for pairing with pasta and spicy Mediterranean dishes, the wine's label features artwork by Keith Haring, which he gifted to the Castellani Family during his visit to Pisa in 1989, where he created the famous "Tuttomondo" mural.
Aromas of plums, blackcurrants, dark chocolate, tobacco, balsamic and cigar box. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fine, round tannins. Creamy, velvety texture. Sweet spices on the flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
