Familia Torres Winery is celebrating a milestone anniversary, marking 150 years since its establishment in 1870. However, the family's roots in winemaking date back even further, with the first mention of the Torres wine family in 1557. The winery was founded by Miguel Torres Vendrell, and since then, the family has passed down the winery and the name Miguel through generations. Despite facing setbacks, including the bombing of the winery during the Spanish civil war, the family has continued to thrive, with Miguel Torres i Carbó rebuilding and expanding the business. Under the leadership of Miguel A. Torres and later Miguel Torres Maczassek, the winery has become a leader in environmental advocacy, social responsibility, and innovation, earning recognition as Drinks International's "World's Most Admired Wine Brand". Today, Familia Torres is a respected and renowned winery, both in Spain and around the world.

Intense, beautiful cherry red color. Seductive floral (red rose) and fruit (black cherry jam) aroma with notes of spices (clove) and exquisite undertones of the Mediterranean terroir (pine, dried fruits). Warm and persistent, with a finish that is more vibrant than long.

Vinous: 92 Points

James Suckling: 92 Points

Dark cherries, plums, chocolate, vanilla and cedar on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with polished tannins. Layered and creamy. Drink now.

Jancis Robinson: 17.5 Points

Grenache, Carignan, Syrah. A single vineyard, but each variety occupies its own share. Organic viticulture. Alcoholic fermentation in concrete vats and stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic conversion and ageing in oak barrels for 15 to 18 months. Subzone: Garrigues.
Tasted blind. Fabulous work by Torres in one of the most difficult vintages to be remembered in Spain because it combined frost with drought. This great wine has sweetness, a touch of spice, a lot of roundness and an incredibly velvety texture. I can only say that it is a complete wine: toast, charcoal, quality oak, tobacco and a touch of violets. It is a very elegant and deep wine. We want more examples like this in Costers del Segre.
